Why handmade soaps? Sundrops Soaps are made by hand with ingredients that combine to naturally produce glycerine in the process. Glycerine is an emollient which attracts and retains moisture. Many commercial soap companies remove the glycerine from their bars because of it's value when sold separately on the commercial market. This leaves consumers with the "by-products" of soap. Many people find these "detergent-type" bars detrimental to both their skin and their sense of smell. We don't add chemical hardeners to our soaps either. We rely on time to create hardness in our bars. All of our soaps are air cured for a minimum of 4 weeks. We believe our soaps are superior to clear, glycerine soaps. Sundrops Soaps are handmade, cold processed soaps. This method ensures that the oils are heated only to the melting point, therefor retaining the properties which enable the soaps to cleanse the skin properly. Each ingredient used lends qualities that combine to create superior bars of soap. Our soaps are not a melt & pour soap base. We do not purchase bulk soap base and add ingredients to it and call it handmade soap. Nor do we use solvents to create a clear, transparent soap. We choose every ingredient that goes into our soaps with the utmost care and attention and prepare them by hand in small batches. Our soaps are creamy looking because that's the way they are made!
